Mumbai Police Drive Against Drugs: The Mumbai Police has intensified the campaign to make the financial capital of the country drug free. Under this, the police has carried out major action in a single day. Under this, 440 records of 400 records of the accused were searched. Mumbai Police’s DCP Operation Vishal Thakur has asked all the police officers in Mumbai to search and take action against drug-related accused.
DCP of Mumbai has orders for operation
Mumbai Police’s DCP Operation Vishal Thakur told that action has been taken against those who are involved in drugs in Mumbai and against whom drug cases are registered. They have also been asked to search. For this, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phanskar, Special Commissioner Deven Bharti and Joint Commissioner Law and Order Satyanarayan Chaudhary have issued orders to their subordinates regarding this. These orders have been given to 5 additional commissioners of Mumbai, 13 DCPs and senior police inspectors of all police stations.
Case filed against 27 under NDPS
Mumbai Police searched 440 accused in a day. Out of this, legal action was taken against 67 accused. The Mumbai Police further told that out of these 27 people, the police recovered drugs. A case was registered against them under sections related to NDPS. An officer told that the police have recovered different types of drugs from these accused.
Under this entire action, the police have received 9409 grams of ganja, 30 grams of charas, 19 grams of MD, 5 bottles of codeine phosphate from the accused. DCP Thakur said that in the case of giving tobacco or related things to a minor or ignoring the rules while running a paan shop, the police took action against 112 illegal paan tapriwalas with the help of BMC and removed them.
