Under MSSC, any woman can open her own account if she wants. If the girl is a minor, then a family member or the girl’s guardian can open an account in her name. Its last date is March 31, 2025.
Some special features of the scheme
The minimum amount for opening an account under the scheme is Rs 1000 and the maximum is Rs 2 lakh. Its time period is two years. In this scheme, you will get 7.5 percent return annually, which will be credited to your account every three months.
You will be able to withdraw money in this way
You can also withdraw your money after 6 months of opening the account. Before this, money can be withdrawn from the account in case of death of the account holder or by citing any emergency. Usually, after completion of two years, the entire amount along with interest is credited to the account.
Opening an account is also very easy
Opening an account for MSSC is also very easy. For this, you will have to go to the post office or bank and fill the form for opening an account and submit documents like Aadhaar, PAN card. The thing to keep in mind is that you cannot open an account in every bank for the scheme. The selected banks for this include Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Bank of India, PAB and Union Bank of India.
