MP Crime News: Madhya Pradesh police on Sunday registered a case against Pushpraj Singh Patel, son of Congress MLA Sena Mahesh Patel, for allegedly abetting a 25-year-old woman to commit suicide. According to information received from a police officer, Damini Thakur of Alirajpur district committed suicide earlier this week.
Pushparaj Singh is accused of pressuring the woman to marry him and threatening her several times, due to which the woman took this step.
Complaint lodged by family of deceased woman
The accused is the son of Congress MLA from Jobat constituency Sena Mahesh Patel. According to news agency PTI, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Vyas said, ‘‘The woman’s family members had complained that Pushpraj Singh Patel was pressurising their daughter to get married.’’ Police have registered a case under Section 108 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and are investigating further.
According to a PTI report, Pushpraj Singh is accused of threatening the woman and her fiancé several times, which created problems in the woman’s engagement. The woman was also supposed to get engaged in 2019, but the engagement was broken due to similar threats. Then the same thing happened in the second engagement this year.
First there was a deadly attack on the fiancé
The SP informed that the man with whom the woman was engaged in 2019 is accused of having a deadly attack on him by Pushpraj Singh. After this, the boy broke the engagement. When a similar situation arose again, the woman took her own life. Now the police is engaged in further action while conducting a thorough investigation in the case.
