Let us tell you that TeleManas Mental Health Helpline was started in October 2022. This helpline has received calls from more than 3.5 lakh Indians across the country. Recently, on October 10, the government assessed the report on Tele Manas in which it was revealed that a large percentage of people are troubled by the problem of insomnia. At the same time, 14 percent people are troubled by depressed mood, 11% by stress and 4% by anxiety.
The report also shows that out of the total complaints, at least three percent of the people are suffering from suicide related cases. However, the problem of insomnia is at the top. Let us tell you that most of the calls received on Tele Manas Mental Health Helpline were from men which is 56 percent and 72% people in the age group of 18 to 45 years called.

With changing times, depression, anxiety and stress have increased among people, due to which the problem of sleeplessness has increased among people. Along with this, unbalanced lifestyle, watching mobile or TV till late night and irregular working hours have also caused considerable disturbance in sleep. The result of this is that most people keep complaining about not getting enough sleep or lack of sleep.
How many hours of sleep is necessary at what age?
Health experts say that children between 16 years to 17 years should sleep at least 13 hours a day. People aged between 20 to 55 years must sleep at least 7 hours a day. If you are above fifty years of age then you should sleep for 6 hours. If seen, sleep gives rest to your body after the whole day’s work. It is like a spa which not only reforms the body but also gives plenty of energy for the next day. This improves efficiency and brain development. The chemical processes that occur in the brain while sleeping increases mental capacity and helps in preventing the negative effects of aging.
