More than 85 percent voting at Dudhwa Khurd booth of Barmer, know why voting took place again?

Rajasthan Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Re-polling was held on Wednesday at village Dudhwa Khurd booth of Chauhtan assembly of Barmer Lok Sabha constituency of Rajasthan. Amidst the scorching heat, tremendous enthusiasm was seen among the voters. More than 85 percent voters cast their votes. There were allegations of fake voting in this booth. Some videos of this were also revealed, which went viral on social media.

In such a situation, after complaints of breach of voting secrecy, the Election Commission had ordered re-polling. According to officials, a total of 85.70 percent voting was recorded during re-polling in Dudhwa Khurd.

4 members of polling team suspended
Let us tell you that Lok Sabha Elections In the second phase, voting was held in village Dudhwa Khurd on 26 April. Due to fraudulent voting and voters being deprived of voting, re-polling was ordered. In this case, Barmer District Election Officer has suspended four members of the polling team. These members had voted at the booth on 26 April.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that re-polling was held from 7 am to 5 pm at polling station number 50, Government Higher Secondary School, Dudhwa Khurd booth of Chauhtan assembly constituency. There are 1,294 eligible voters here and 1,109 cast their votes. He said that the department made all preparations for re-polling as per the instructions of the Election Commission and webcasting was also done.

Earlier, re-polling was held on May 2 at a polling booth in Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency. There are 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan. Of these, voting took place on 12 seats in the first phase on April 19 and voting took place on 13 seats in the second phase on April 26.
