Hindus constitute about 8% of Bangladesh’s population of approximately 170 million, while Muslims constitute about 91%.

Prime Minister Modi has also expressed concern
United Nations human rights officials and other rights groups have expressed concern over human rights in Bangladesh. Hindus and other minority communities say the interim government has not provided them adequate security and that radicals have become increasingly influential since Sheikh Hasina’s ouster. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has also expressed concern over these attacks.
Donald Trump also condemned
Donald Trump had condemned the attacks on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. While wishing Diwali on his social media platform on Thursday, Trump wrote, “I hope that this festival of lights will lead to the victory of good over evil. I strongly condemn the barbaric violence against Hindus, Christians and other minorities who are being attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh, where there is complete lawlessness.”
During this, he accused Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden of ignoring the plight of Hindus around the world. He also promised to protect Hindu Americans. He wrote, “This would never have happened during my lifetime. Kamala and Joe have ignored Hindus around the world and in America.”
