Luizinho Faleiro Resigns: Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Goa suffered a major setback on Tuesday (April 11). TMC’s face in the state and former Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro, has resigned from the party.
Falero has considerable clout in Christian-dominated South Goa. In such a situation, before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, TMC can suffer a lot due to this. At present, he has not said anything clearly about his next step.
What did Luizinho Faleiro say?
Luizinho Falero resigned from the post of Rajya Sabha MP and said, “I am leaving TMC. There is no plan to join any other party right now. I will let you know if anything happens in the future.”
Falero told in the press release that he had joined TMC at the behest and inspiration of Mamata Banerjee. He hoped that the party would move forward under Banerjee’s leadership. Falero also said that thanks to Banerjee for believing in me and giving me an important position.
What will TMC do in South Goa?
On the whole matter, TMC has issued a statement saying that after Falero leaves the party, we will field another candidate in South Goa. We wish him good health. We hope that he will continue to serve the people of Goa like this.
News agency PTI quoted sources as saying that the TMC was upset with Falero for refusing to contest the 2022 assembly elections from Fatorda against Goa Forward Party’s Vijay Sardesai. Please tell that Falero was in Congress before joining TMC.
