The company gave clarification
Whereas shoe manufacturing company ‘Vern Holdings’ has given clarification saying that ‘logo’ has been imprinted on the soles of high heel shoes. However, the company admitted that the ‘logo’ was misprinted due to a flaw in the design. The company also said that it has stopped the sale of the shoes and has also started the process to refund the price to the customers who purchased them. Along with this, the company ‘Vern’ has said in a statement on social media that “Our intention was not to degrade or insult any religion or belief. Management apologizes. We hope for forgiveness so that we can correct this mistake.
More than 1100 shoes confiscated
Police said on Monday that they have seized more than 1,100 shoes from the shops of ‘Vern’, a company that prints logos like religious symbols on shoes. Along with this, the Islamic Development Department, the agency that looks after Islamic affairs in Malaysia, also summoned the company’s founder Ng Chuan Hu. The Islamic Department has said that if evidence is found that this ‘logo’ was made intentionally then legal action will be taken so that such incidents can be prevented in future. (input language)
