Switzerland Bans Burqa: The ban on burqa in Switzerland has come into effect from January 1, 2025. The government there has said that if a woman wears a burqa in a public place, she will have to pay a fine of about $1100, but now this controversy has reached India. The statement of Shia religious guru Maulana Yasoob Abbas has come to light in this matter. He said, “In every religion women have been ordered to remain veiled.”
Maulana Yasoob Abbas said, “In every religion, women have been ordered to remain veiled. You look at those Hindu women who wear a veil, no one can see their face. If the woman is in a dress, She is in hijab, she is in niqab.”
Maulana said, “Believe me, the way the jewelery of the house is kept in the safe and the garbage is kept on the road, that is why the religion of Islam has ordered the burqa, it has treated women like jewellery. I would like to ask the people of Switzerland to oppose the government.”

Swiss government’s decision
In Switzerland, from January 1, 2025, women will not be able to completely cover their faces with hijab, burqa or any other means in public places. Under the new law, if this rule is violated, the woman may face a fine of $1144 i.e. approximately Rs 98,000. This law has come into effect from January 1, 2025.
The law was enacted as a result of a referendum held in 2021, in which 51.21% of Swiss citizens voted in favor of banning the burqa. After this, the government passed this law, which has become effective from today. After the implementation of this law, women will not be able to cover their faces completely in public places like public transport, restaurants, shops, and public offices.
