PM Modi Kuwait Visit Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kuwait on Saturday (December 21, 2024) on a two-day visit at the invitation of the state’s Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Narendra Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Kuwait in 43 years, who was warmly welcomed by senior officials of the Gulf country. Ahead of his visit, the Prime Minister said that India and Kuwait have a common interest in peace, security and stability in West Asia.
Prime Minister Modi wrote on ‘X’, “Warmly welcome in Kuwait. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years and this will undoubtedly strengthen India-Kuwait friendship in many areas. I look forward to the programs scheduled for today and tomorrow.” “Looking forward to it.”
On the arrival of PM Modi, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousuf Saud Al-Sabah warmly welcomed him. “A new chapter is beginning,” External Affairs Ministry official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on -Yahya and several other ministers and dignitaries warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi at the airport.”
During the visit, PM Modi will hold discussions with the leadership of Kuwait and meet the Indian community. Before leaving for Kuwait, he said that his talks with the top Kuwaiti leadership would be an opportunity to draw a roadmap for the future partnership between India and Kuwait. He said, “We greatly value our historic ties with Kuwait spanning generations. We are not only strong trade and energy partners, but we also share common interests in peace, security, stability and prosperity in the Middle East region.”
PM Modi said that he is very much looking forward to his meeting with the Amir, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Kuwait. The Prime Minister also attended the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup. The last Indian Prime Minister to visit Kuwait was Indira Gandhi, who visited the country in 1981.
