Lawyers protest in Udaipur on 40-year-old demand before elections, accuse CM Gehlot

Rajasthan Election 2023 News: There are 5 months left for the assembly elections in Rajasthan. Every section is raising its demand regarding this and reaching the government and getting the protest registered. In this sequence, today a protest was held in Udaipur regarding the 40 years old demand. The special thing in this dharna is that now the leaders of the parties were on the same stage and all had the same voice. The demanders were advocates from Udaipur and the demand is to set up a Udaipur High Court bench.

Advocates staged a sit-in outside the court where leaders of other parties including BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and office bearers of social organizations were present and all supported their demand. After the speech, everyone took out a rally and reached the District Collectorate and demonstrated there. Then everyone handed over the memorandum to the Additional District Collector in the name of the President.

What is this 40 years old demand?

Mewar Vagad High Court Bench Sangharsh Samiti convenor Ramesh Nandwana told that this is our 40 years old demand. Many governments came and went but no one listened. For the last many years, we also boycott work and protest on the first Saturday of every month. If the High Court Bench is established in Udaipur, then the people here will not have to go to Jodhpur.

The reason behind making this demand is that if there is a case in Udaipur, after the session, if someone wants to appeal, then he has to go to Jodhpur, which is far away from Udaipur. Along with this, there is a tribal area due to which the economic condition of the people is weak, due to which they cannot go there by spending money. For this reason, there are many such prisoners who are in jail and are not able to appeal even for bail.

Advocates gave statement regarding 28 assembly seat of Mewar

Advocate Ramesh Nandwana said that it would not be possible to come while CM Gehlot was there. The reason behind this is that if the High Court Bench is established in Udaipur, then all the cases will be fought here. In such a situation, the income of the advocates of Jodhpur will be affected. The demand for a High Court bench in Udaipur had also been raised before, in which the advocates of Jodhpur protested.

It is because of Jodhpur that CM Gehlot is refusing to give the High Court bench to Udaipur. But we want to say that he is not just the CM of Jodhpur. He is the CM of entire Rajasthan. If the demands are not accepted, there will be strong protest in 28 assembly seats and 5 Lok Sabha seats of Mewar. They will be shown the power of vote in the elections.
