Geo News has published the news quoting a senior police officer of Pakistan. Karachi’s Additional Inspector General (AIG) Imran Yaqoob Minhas claimed on Tuesday that beggars from all the cities and villages of Pakistan have come to Karachi during Eid and Ramzan, their number could be around 3-4 lakh.
Crime increased in Pakistan
Pakistan’s top police officer said that at present Karachi city is becoming a favorable city for beggars and criminals. Additional IG said that it is difficult to catch criminals with old methods, hence he has requested the government to install CCTV cameras at every intersection. According to Geo News, at least 19 people have lost their lives in road crimes alone. In the year 2024, at least 55 people have died at the hands of dacoits.
