When can I submit the life certificate?

The life certificate submitted by the pensioners is valid for one year. The pensioners who had submitted the life certificate last year are valid only till 30 November 2024. In such a situation, to get pension from the month of December, it is necessary that the pensioners submit their life certificate within the next 9 days i.e. 30th November.
Super senior citizens i.e. people above 80 years of age have the facility to submit life certificate from October 1 to November 30, 2024, while senior citizens above 60 years of age can submit life certificate between November 1 to November 30, 2024. Disadvantages of not submitting life certificate!
If the elderly pensioners do not submit the life certificate by 30th November 2024, then they will stop receiving pension from the month of December. According to UIDAI’s FAQ, “Once the life certificate is updated in the pension system, the pension will be paid along with the outstanding amount on the next pension payment date. But the life certificate will not be credited for a period of three years or more.” If done, the pension will be released only after the approval of the competent authority through CPAO as per proper procedure.

Apart from this, booking of door step banking can also be done through the toll free number of the bank. After this the bank official comes to the home and collects the life certificate from the pensioner. Many banks provide this facility to senior citizens for free. At the same time, many banks charge customers for this.
Jeevan Pramaan Portal
Pensioners can also submit their life certificate online through Jeevan Pramaan portal sitting at home. For this they will need UIDAI identity card. Proof of your existence can be easily submitted on this portal through biometric verification.
Submit life certificate through postman
India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) is also providing the facility to its customers to do life certificate verification through Postman. This is also a facility similar to door step banking, in which postmen come to the homes of pensioners and collect their life certificates.
Deposit can be done through Umang app
Life certificate can also be submitted sitting at home through Umang app. For this you will not need to go to EPFO office. To submit life certificate through Umang app, you must have 12 digit Aadhaar number and registered mobile number.
Life certificate can be submitted through PDAs
Pensioners can also submit their life certificate by visiting the pension disbursing authority i.e. post office or bank. A form has to be filled in the bank.
Submit life certificate through face authentication
Department of Pensioners Welfare (DoPPW) is providing the facility to submit life certificate through face authentication. For this, you just have to go to Google Play Store and download ‘Aadhaar Face RD Application’ and go to the app. With the help of the app you can submit your life certificate.
