JP Duminy suddenly resigns, a big blow to South Africa before the Champions Trophy

JP Duminy Resignation Batting Coach: JP Duminy has resigned from the post of batting coach of the South African team. The South African Cricket Board (CSA) announced on Friday that Duminy has decided to step down as coach due to personal reasons. The African Cricket Board has informed through social media that Duminy is resigning from the post of white ball batting coach of the team with immediate effect. He was appointed as batting coach in March 2023.

In the statement issued by the South African Cricket Board, it was written that JP Duminy, one of the legends of South African cricket, remained an integral part of the team from March 2023. His contribution to the improvement of batting in the white ball format was incomparable. CSA expressed its gratitude to Duminy for his services.

Search for new coach continues

With the resignation of JP Duminy, now the South African white ball team (T20 and ODI) needs a new batting coach. The country’s cricket board said in its statement that the search for a new batting coach has started and a new name will be announced soon. JP Duminy represented South Africa at the international level from 2004 to 2019. In this long career, he scored more than 9,000 runs and took 132 wickets in 326 international matches for Africa.

The South African team is currently busy in the 2 test match series against Sri Lanka. Africa has won the first match by 233 runs. At the end of the second day’s play in the second Test, Sri Lanka has scored 242 runs at the loss of 3 wickets, but it is still behind by 116 runs in the first innings.
