Joe Biden On Russia: The situation in Ukraine is becoming increasingly serious. US President Joe Biden has clearly said that he does not want a confrontation with Russia, but if Russia targets Americans in Ukraine, the US will give a befitting reply. Biden said, “We are prepared to give a decisive response to the Russian attack on Ukraine, which is still very likely. We do not seek a direct confrontation with Russia. However, I am clear that if Russia allows the Americans in Ukraine targets, we will give a resounding reply.”

The Joe Biden administration also warned Russia of “serious consequences” if it invades Ukraine, saying the path of diplomacy is still available if the Kremlin chooses constructively. White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Carine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Monday that the US was actively working to reach a diplomatic solution to ease the crisis. “As you all know, Biden spoke with (Russian) President Putin over the weekend and we are in close contact with the Russian government in full coordination with our allies and partners,” he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that he was ready to continue working with the West on security issues to ease tensions over Ukraine. “We are ready to work together further. We are ready to go down the path of dialogue,” Putin told a news conference after talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Moscow.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Kremlin also confirmed the withdrawal of some forces from Ukraine’s borders but added that the move was planned. He insisted that Russia would continue to move troops across the country as it deems fit. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “We have always said that after the military exercises are over … the troops will return to their permanent bases. There is nothing new in this. It is a normal process.”

Significantly, Russia has gathered about 100,000 soldiers near the border of Ukraine. On this move, Western countries are warning him and alleging that he intends to attack Ukraine. However, Russia has denied that it has repeatedly attacked. He says he has no plans to attack Ukraine.
