Jammu Kashmir poll duty vehicle accident: A major accident took place in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, 24 September. A vehicle on election duty met with an accident in Reasi. The second phase of voting is to be held on September 25
It is worth noting that voting will be held on September 25 in the second phase of assembly elections for 26 assembly seats in six districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The seats on which elections will be held are Kangan (ST), Ganderbal, Hazratbal, Khanyar, Habbakadal, Lal Chowk, Channapora, Zadibal, Idgah, Central Shalteng, Budgam, Beerwah, Khansahib, Charar-e-Sharif, Chadura and Gulabgarh (ST). Apart from this, voting will also be held in Reasi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Kalakot – Sunderbani, Nowshera, Rajouri (ST), Budhal (ST), Thannamandi (ST), Surankot (ST), Poonch Haveli and Mendhar (ST) seats.
What was the voting percentage in the first round of elections?
Voting was held on 24 assembly seats in 7 districts in the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections on 18 September. The voting percentage during this period was 58.85. According to the Election Commission, the highest voting was in Kishtwar with 77.23% and the lowest voting was in Pulwama with 46.03%. Doda was second with 69.33% and Ramban was third with 67.71%.
The third phase of voting is scheduled to be held on October 1. This phase includes 40 assembly seats. The third phase includes Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora districts. The results of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will be announced on October 8. It is worth noting that this is the first assembly election being held in the valley after 2014.
