Jay Shah: BCCI will honor Jay Shah, know why ICC President will get the ‘award’

Jay Shah, BCCI: There will be a special general meeting of BCCI on Sunday. In this meeting, the newly elected International Cricket Council (ICC) President Jay Shah will be honored by the state units of BCCI. Jay Shah took over as ICC President on 1 December. Earlier in the month of September, Jai Shah was elected unopposed. Jay Shah became the youngest chairman of ICC. The former BCCI secretary replaced Greg Barclay. Greg Barkley declined a third term. After which Jai Shah got the responsibility.

Jay Shah will be honored in the special general meeting of BCCI

Earlier, Jay Shah was the Secretary of BCCI from October 2019 to January 2021. After BCCI Secretary, he took over the post of Asian Cricket Council. However, now Jay Shah has been specially invited to the special general meeting of BCCI. Jai Shah will be honored by the state units in this special general meeting. In fact, as a cricket administrator, Jay Shah is considered to have made a major contribution to the development of the game at the global level. Recently, Jay Shah had met top officials of the Brisbane Olympic Organizing Committee to include cricket in the Summer Olympics.

Cricket has been included in the Los Angeles Olympic Games. In this way, after almost 128 years, cricket has become a part of the Olympic Games. However, no official decision has been taken on cricket in Brisbane Olympic Games 2032. It is believed that Jay Shah has played a major role in reintroducing cricket into the Olympics. According to Australian newspaper The Age, Jay Shah will meet Cricket Australia President Mike Baird and England and Wales Cricket Board President Richard Thompson.
