Legendary footballer Pele scored two goals against Sweden in the 1958 FIFA World Cup final. It was a historic match for Pele. Brazil became the champion. Talking about Pele’s overall career, he scored 1283 goals in a total of 1363 professional matches. He played 92 matches for Brazil and scored 77 goals. Pele put an end to an excellent and memorable career in 1977. He retired from international football in 1977.

Significantly, in the 1958 FIFA World Cup, Brazil played the semi-final match against France. In this match, Brazil had taken a 2-1 lead till half time. After this Pele scored a hat-trick. He became the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the history of the FIFA World Cup. Brazil won the semi-final match 5–2 and France had to be eliminated from the tournament after losing.
