Reddy Family Property Dispute: YS Vijayamma, mother of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Tuesday (October 29) opened up about the ongoing property dispute with her sister and state Congress unit president YS Sharmila. She said it was “very painful” for her to see one child being mistreated by another, as Sharmila had always supported her brother.
According to news agency ANI, in an open letter the former MLA said, “When Rajasekhara Reddy was alive, he did not divide the property. We all stayed together and before any distribution could take place, he left us in an accident. This fact was clearly known to Vijay Sai Reddy as the auditor. “Yet, he deliberately lied.”
‘Property was distributed equally’
He further said, “We lived together as a family for 10 years from 2009 to 2019 after Rajasekhara Reddy left us. Jagan took his share as dividend and gave Rs 200 crore to his sister. According to the MOU, Jagan held 60 percent and Sharmila held 40 percent, but before the MOU they shared equally, as they had equal rights. I am a witness to it then and now.”
‘Given Rs 200 crore to Sharmila’
He said that in 2019, just two months after becoming the Chief Minister, Jagan proposed distribution of assets. Vijayamma said, “Later, in my presence in Vijayawada, it was decided which property would go to Jagan and which to Sharmila. The 2019 MOU was prepared and written by Jagan himself. Since Sharmila had rights over the property, So he was given Rs 200 crore as dividend. The MoU was not officially a gift from Jagan but he gave him some assets including shares of Saraswati. Also promised, which will be theirs after the resolution of the cases.”
‘It is difficult to see the fight between the two children’
The YSRCP leader said that even though Sharmila was not engaged in business, she supported Jagan in politics and worked selflessly for his success.
She said, “She had an important role in bringing Jagan to power. For every parent, all children are equal. It is difficult to see one child being wronged by another. As a mother, I feel that I Amidst all the lies, I am bound to tell the truth, it is still their issue. .”
The YSRCP leader also said that people can talk about this family in whatever way they want. YS Vijayamma said, “The cycle of lies continues. Some people are speaking intentionally, some unknowingly, but rumors are spreading far and wide. This should not happen. This is injustice not only to my children, but also to the state I had hoped that I would not come before you on this matter, but circumstances have made it necessary to do so.”
