Israel attacked a school being used as a shelter in Gaza’s Nusrat camp, killing 17 Palestinians. According to Reuters report, an 11-month-old child is also among those who died. According to the report, 32 people are injured, many of whom are in critical condition.
This is not the first time that the Israeli army has targeted a school in which thousands of displaced families live. Temporary camps and shelter homes have also been attacked several times. Women and children are often killed in these attacks. According to Gaza’s health ministry, more than 42,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli counter-attacks, more than half of whom are women and children.
The Israeli army says that it has killed more than 17,000 fighters without providing any evidence. Due to this war, almost 90 percent of Gaza’s population of 2.3 million has been displaced. Many areas were reduced to debris, due to which hundreds of people are forced to live in tent camps.
According to a Reuters report, on Wednesday (23 October 2024), the Israeli army arrested at least 18 Palestinians, including a journalist and former prisoners, on the West Bank. According to the Palestinian Prisoners Society, the number of people arrested since the start of the war on Gaza has reached more than 11,400.
