Israel or Iran, who is ahead on the military front? Know who has so much power from the ground to the sky

Israel-Iran military strength: Israel and Iran have come into a head-to-head war in Western Asia. Israel launched attacks on Iran on Saturday (October 26, 2024), killing at least two soldiers. The Israeli army said that it has stopped attacks on Iran.

Israel’s latest attacks are being seen as a reaction to the attack by Iran on October 1, 2024. Although there has been no direct war between the two countries till now, both are continuously enhancing their military skills in terms of regional influence and internal security. Israel has approximately 1,69,500 active military personnel. However, Iran’s numbers are much larger than this, it has about 6,10,000 active soldiers. In terms of reserve force, Israel is ahead with 4,65,000 soldiers, while Iran has 3,50,000 reserve soldiers.

The defense budget also reflects the strength of these two countries. Israel’s defense budget in the year 2023 was $27.5 billion, which is much more than Iran’s budget of $10.3 billion. This economic difference also affects the modern military technology and weapons of both the countries.

Air power: Israeli and Iranian aircraft

Israel has 345 combat-ready aircraft, many of which are advanced American F-35 stealth fighters. Iran, on the other hand, has 312 aircraft and apart from this, there are 23 additional aircraft of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). Iran is mostly dependent on old Russian Sukhoi and MiG fighter planes. In air defence, Israel has state-of-the-art systems such as ‘Iron Dome’, ‘David’s Sling’ and ‘Arrow Systems’, which are very important in defending against air attacks. Iran has air defense systems like Bavar-373, S-300 and Khordad System, which act as essential shield for their security.

Artillery, helicopters and submarines

In artillery, Iran has 6,798+ guns, while Israel has 530 artillery devices. Among helicopters, Israel has 43 and Iran has 57 helicopters and additional 5 IRGC helicopters. In terms of submarines, Israel has five submarines and Iran has 17 submarines. Both countries have characteristics in military strength. Israel maintains a more agile and modern army with smaller size and advanced technological equipment. At the same time, Iran’s army is large in size and based on traditional military resources.
