Mamata Banerjee On INDIA Alliance: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee on Friday (December 06, 2024) has questioned the current functioning and leadership style of the opposition alliance India Bloc. He said that if the current leadership cannot run it effectively then he is ready to take over this responsibility.

In an interview given to Bengali channel News 18 Bangla, Mamata Banerjee said, “I have formed India Block, now the responsibility of handling it is on those leading the front. If they cannot run it, then what can I do? I just want to I would say that everyone will have to be taken along. Mamta emphasized that she does not want to go out of Bengal, but if needed, she can run the alliance from there.

TMC’s taunt on Congress

Mamata’s comments came when her MP Kalyan Banerjee called on Congress and other opposition parties to accept Mamata Banerjee as the “natural leader” of the India block. While the Congress is traditionally seen as the largest party in the India block, Banerjee’s TMC has consistently advocated for her to take the reins of the alliance, arguing that her leadership can better challenge the BJP.
