Is everything not well in Team India? Why did Mohammed Shami not get a place in Australia tour?

Mohammed Shami Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Team India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last Friday (25 October). The name of fast bowler Mohammed Shami was missing from this Indian team, after which all kinds of questions started arising. This question also started arising in the minds of the fans whether everything is not going well in Team India? So let us know why Shami did not get a place.

Let us tell you that a few hours before the announcement of Team India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Shami had shared a video through social media, in which he was seen bowling in the nets. After this, his not being selected in the team definitely seemed strange.

It is also worth noting that no update of any kind was given by BCCI on Shami’s injury. The Indian Board also announced Team India for the four-match T20 series to be played on the South Africa tour along with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. While giving an update on the injuries of Mayank Yadav, Shivam Dubey and Ryan Parag for the Team India announced for the Africa tour, the board said that these players were not available for selection due to injuries. But BCCI did not give any update on Shami’s injury with Team India selected for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Let us tell you that Mohammed Shami had undergone heel surgery in February, from which he has not been able to recover till now. These days, Team India is playing a three-match test series against New Zealand. Before this series, Indian captain Rohit Sharma, while giving an update on Shami’s injury, had said that Shami’s knee got swollen, due to which he was not selected for the Test series against New Zealand.

Now speculations are being made that due to knee swelling, Shami could not be a part of Team India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, no official update was given regarding the fast bowler’s injury.
