Is Covid vaccine responsible for deaths due to heart attack, what answer did the government give in the House?

Nadda ON Sudden death by Heart Attack: The heart attack cases that people are experiencing sometimes while going to the gym and sometimes while dancing are being linked to the Corona vaccine. It is being said on social media platforms that people are dying of heart attacks due to Corona vaccine. However, the Government of India’s reply has also come regarding this. Union Health Minister JP Nadda has said in Rajya Sabha that Corona vaccine is not the reason for sudden death due to heart attack.

Answering this question, Health Minister JP Nadda said that deaths due to sudden heart attack are not happening due to Corona vaccine. He cited a report of ICMR and also presented it in the House. It has been claimed in the report that Corona vaccine is not the reason behind the deaths due to heart attacks in India, rather their chances have reduced. JP Nadda said in Rajya Sabha that due to Covid-19, the possibility of sudden death increases due to hospitalization, heredity of sudden death and some lifestyle related behaviours.

What does ICMR report say?

ICMR and the National Institute of Epidemiology conducted a trial in which 729 sudden death cases and 2,916 controls were included for analysis. It has been observed that taking any dose of Covid-19 vaccine has reduced the chances of sudden unexplained death. At the same time, the possibility of sudden death without any reason reduced even more in those who took both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

How do the chances of death increase?

Health Minister JP Nadda in his reply said that prior hospitalization due to Covid, family history of sudden death, drinking alcohol 48 hours before death/interview, use of drug/substance for recreation and 48 hours before death/interview. Excessive physical activity hours before increases the chances of sudden death.
