Indian officials will be able to meet

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said his country will allow Indian officials to meet the 17 Indian crew members of the cargo ship that Iran’s military captured near the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday. . According to a statement issued by Iran, Amir-Abdullahian gave this information to Foreign Minister S Jaishankar during a telephone conversation on Sunday. In the conversation, Jaishankar had asked for the release of the Indian crew members aboard the Portuguese-flagged cargo ship MSC Aries.

India expressed concern

“We are following the details of the seized ship and it will soon be possible for representatives of the Government of India to meet the crew of the said ship,” the statement quoted Amir-Abdullahian as saying. That Jaishankar expressed concern about the condition of the 17 Indian crew members and had requested assistance from Iran in this regard.

India is in contact with Iran

Special naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps had reportedly seized ‘MSC Aries’ in view of her links with Israel. MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) said on Saturday that it is working closely with the relevant authorities for the release of the 25 crew members and the return of the ship. Hours after Iran’s action, White House National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said the ship’s crew included Indian, Filipino, Russian, Pakistani and Estonian citizens. Official sources in India said officials are in touch with Iran to secure the release of the 17 Indians. (Language)
