In the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024, the Indian hockey team has defeated South Korea 3-2 in a thrilling fashion. This is Team India’s second consecutive win in the group stage.
This match was played at Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar. Sangeeta Kumari gave India a 1-0 lead in the third minute itself. Deepika put Team India ahead 2-0 in the 20th minute.
The first goal for South Korea was scored by Yuri Lee in the 34th minute. Just 3 minutes later, Eunbi Cheon brought her team to a 2-2 draw with India.
When only 3 minutes were left for the match to end, Deepika gave India the lead again by scoring a goal. In the end Team India won 3-2.
With this victory, the women’s Indian team has moved to ninth place in the hockey rankings and host India is at second place in the Champions Trophy table after winning both its matches.
India defeated Malaysia 4-0 in the first match of the Asian Champions Trophy. Now by defeating South Korea it has registered its second consecutive victory.
