SpaceX Launch ISRO Satellite GSAT 20 : With the help of billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, India has successfully launched its most advanced communication satellite GSAT-20 (GSAT N-2) into space. This advanced communication satellite was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States. This advanced satellite is very important for India. The specialty of this satellite is that it will directly benefit the people of India.
why is it special GSAT-20 satellite,
GSAT-20 (GSAT N-2) satellite is specially designed for communication and broadcasting services. In this, transponders are installed for communication, TV broadcasting, internet service and other data services. With the help of this satellite, broadband services will be provided in remote areas of India. Also, with this, people will be able to avail the benefit of internet facility while flying in passenger planes. This will provide better and stronger communication facilities to India’s communication network, especially in rural and remote areas.
This satellite has been equipped with 32 user beams. Which includes 8 narrow spot beams over the North Eastern region of India and 24 wide spot beams over the rest of India. These 32 beams will be supported by hub stations located at remote locations in India. Which will also help in strengthening in-flight internet connectivity.
Satellite launched with the help of SpaceX
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)’s most advanced communication satellite GSAT-20 (GSAT N-2) has been launched into space with the help of Elon Musk’s SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. Radhakrishnan Durairaj, Chairman and Managing Director of ISRO’s commercial arm New Space India Limited, said that the launch of the satellite has been successful.
Why did India have to take help from SpaceX?,
Actually, this advanced communication satellite of ISRO weighs 4,700 kg, which was too heavy for Indian rockets. Therefore it was sent for foreign commercial launch and launched with the help of SpaceX. India’s own rocket ‘The Bahubali’, this launch vehicle Mark-3 is capable of carrying satellites weighing maximum 4,000 to 4,100 kg into space.
