Regarding this incident, the Congress said on Monday that the government needs to take the country into confidence through discussion in Parliament on the matter. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that they are united on the security of the country, but the government should be honest, after discussing it in the Parliament, the Modi government should take the country into confidence. The Congress said that the government, leaving its wavering attitude, should explain to China in a strict tone that such an act will not be tolerated.
There was a clash last year as well
It may be noted that there was a brief standoff between Indian and Chinese troops on the Yangtse in October last year as well and it was resolved after talks between the local commanders of the two sides as per the established protocol. At the same time, after the fierce conflict in the Galvan Valley in June 2020, there was a lot of tension in the relations between India and China. Both sides have gradually deployed thousands of soldiers and heavy weapons on the LAC. Following the eastern Ladakh standoff, the Indian Army has significantly enhanced its operational capabilities along the LAC in the eastern theatre.
