Manmohan Vaidya on Hindu Nation: Joint General Secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Manmohan Vaidya said that India has always been a spiritual democracy and this identity is known in the world as Hindutva. He also said that unlike Pakistan, minorities in India have many equal rights which is the Hindutva of the Indian Constitution.
Speaking on the topic ‘Sanatan Bharat’ in a program organized by a temple, Vaidya said that the meaning of the word ‘nation’ should be understood correctly, because India is not nationalistic but ‘national’. He said that there has always been a spiritual democracy in India and this is the identity of India which has got the name of Hindutva in the whole world. It is wrong to call it ‘Hinduism’ in English, but it should be called Hindutva.
‘Hindu can never be fundamentalist’
Vaidya said that faith should not be considered as ‘religion’, as religion is completely different and everyone has the freedom to choose ‘upasana’ (form of worship). Manmohan Vaidya has issued such statements many times before regarding Hindutva. He has always said that a Hindu can never be a fundamentalist.
‘A Hindu can never be a ‘Fundamentalist”
In the year 2019, Manmohan Vaidya had said that the word ‘fanatic’ comes from the English word fundamentalist, which in Hindi means conservative, fundamentalist. Some people use it without thinking. From this the word ‘hardcore Hindu’ has come. A Hindu can never be a fanatic, because a Hindu can never be a ‘fundamentalist’.
