India Pakistan Jal Treaty : Pakistan has always been lying about the Indus Water Treaty, but for the first time it happened that the Law Minister of Pakistan had to tell the truth in the country’s Parliament. Pakistan’s Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar has said that India has the right over the Ravi River and we cannot go to the International Court against it. This treaty legally binds Pakistan not to go to the International Court against the neighboring country. Tarar said during a discussion in the Pakistani Parliament, there is a water treaty between Pakistan and India. The rights to the water of Ravi river belong to India and we cannot interfere in it. In fact, on Tuesday a question was asked in the National Assembly of Pakistan regarding the Indus Water Treaty. It was asked that what is the Pakistan government doing regarding India’s aggression on the Ravi River? On this, Pakistan’s Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar said that there is a water treaty between Pakistan and India, we cannot interfere in it. International court cannot be taken against India on this issue.
Legal issues should not be politicized
He said, Indus Water Treaty was signed between the two countries in 1960. Under this, India claims the waters of Ravi, Sutlej and Beas rivers. Zartaj Gul, who presented the notice in the lower house of Parliament, attacked Tarar and said that today the Law Minister has accepted India’s right over the Ravi river, which is regrettable. On this the Law Minister said that legal issues should not be politicized. Whatever is true is being told.
Both countries had signed water treaty
The Law Minister said, the Indus Water Treaty was signed by both the countries in 1960. At the same time, it has been claimed in the media report that with the completion of Shahpur Kandi Barrage, India has stopped the water from Ravi River to Pakistan. Shahpur Kandi Barrage is on the border of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir will now get 1,150 cusecs of water from Ravi, which was earlier given to Pakistan. Therefore this issue remained a topic of discussion in the Parliament of Pakistan.
