India defeated China 3-0 in the hockey match, strong performance in Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy

Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Rajgir 2024: Indian women’s hockey team did wonders. She defeated China 3-0 in the last match of the group stage of Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 in the match played at Rajgir Hockey Stadium on Saturday. For India, Sangeeta Kumar (32′), Salima Tete (37′), and Deepika (60′) played important roles in the victory by scoring goals. With this win, India not only ensured top position in the group table, but Deepika also confirmed her place in the goal scoring charts with eight goals.

India started aggressively from the opening minute. Deepika won a penalty corner as soon as the match started, but China’s goalkeeper Surong Wu made a brilliant save. Due to the strong defense of both the teams in the first quarter, neither team could score a goal.

This is how the second quarter was –

In the second quarter, China tried to score a goal on a counter attack, but Indian goalkeeper Bichu made a brilliant save. India also got penalty corners several times, but failed to capitalize on them. At the end of the first half the match remained tied at 0-0.

India scored goals in the third quarter –

India gained momentum in the third quarter. In the 32nd minute, Sushila’s sharp pass was deflected by Sangeeta Kumari and converted into a goal and gave India the lead. Five minutes later, Preeti Dubey, after a brilliant drive, passed the ball to Salima Tete, who made it 2-0 with a precise finish.

India also scored a goal in the last quarter –

China intensified its attack in the last quarter, but India’s defensive line did not give them any chance to score a goal. In the last minute, India earned a penalty corner, where Deepika scored with a brilliant drag flick to give India a decisive 3-0 win.
