India-China Clash: The atmosphere is still heated between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, the Government of India has accelerated the pace of construction of infrastructure on the border. India is rapidly building roads in the border areas. The Border Roads Organization (BRO) is engaged in building new roads around the border areas. Along with this, the government has planned to connect all the border villages of Arunachal Pradesh with each other through a good road.
BRO is engaged in the development works of the border areas of Arunachal Pradesh under Project Vartak. The government plans to improve the infrastructure of these areas as soon as possible. It is believed that this time, retreating from its decades-old policy of being very careful about strengthening road connectivity, India is now laying emphasis on border infrastructure on a large scale.
Nechiphu tunnel work also on pace
According to officials, the construction work of Nechiphu Tunnel is going on at an altitude of 5,700 feet. This single-tube double-lane tunnel made in D-shape will be able to move two-way traffic. Along with this, the Sela Pass tunnel is being constructed by BRO towards the Line of Actual Control (LAC) near Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. This will help the Indian Army to establish connectivity in all weather conditions. Please tell that this tunnel is being built at an altitude of 13,000 feet. The construction work of Pass tunnel will also be completed in the next 5-6 months.

Why was the Nechiphu Tunnel built?
BRO has made this tunnel because there is heavy fog around the Nechiphu tunnel, due to which, apart from local vehicles, the movement of army vehicles is also very difficult here.
Let us tell you that at present, Indian Army personnel and people of the area are using the Balipara-Chariduar road to reach Tawang. Because of the excessive snowfall in this cold season, the connectivity to Sela Pass route gets affected during winters. Not only this, even the movement of vehicles gets restricted.
Let us tell you that the Modi government has emphasized on the development of infrastructure on the border from the very beginning. As soon as it came to power in 2014, the Modi government first established the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).
