Pakistan News: Turning a blind eye to the repression of Uyghur Muslims in China, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the situation in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) is not the same. It is as western media tells.
In an interview to CNN, Imran Khan defended China, saying that Pakistan’s ambassador to China Moinul Haque had visited XUAR and said that the situation there is “not what the western media portrays”.
Pakistan with China
Imran Khan has been projecting himself as a defender of Islamic interests, but his opinion on the question of Uighur Muslims differs from the rest of the world. He is openly defending China on this issue. However, the growing reliance on China for economic aid and diplomatic support is the main reason the Pakistani leadership is left with no choice but to publicly support China’s policies, even if they are responsible for the genocide of Uighur Muslims.
Khan supported Beijing on the Xinjiang issue and the communist regime on the One-China Principle along the South China Sea during the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics 2022.
“The Pakistan side expressed its commitment to the One-China Policy and to China on Taiwan, the South China Sea, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Tibet,” said a joint statement issued after the meeting of Imran Khan and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. “
