India’s stance on Champions Trophy
Controversy arose over Champions Trophy 2025 when the Indian government refused to send Team India to Pakistan due to security reasons. On the other hand, PCB was not ready to accept the hybrid model under any circumstances. Meanwhile, the pressure on ICC was increasing and speculations about snatching away the hosting of Champions Trophy from Pakistan had also started gaining momentum. Meanwhile, there are reports that Pakistan has accepted the hybrid model, but has also put some conditions. Apart from more money, PCB also demanded that in any ICC event held in India in the next 3 years, the hybrid model should be implemented for Pakistan also. But BCCI has rejected this offer. Meanwhile, the next meeting of ICC has been fixed for 5th December.
