‘If I had not killed her…’ Suicide of man who dismembered girlfriend’s body in Bengaluru

Mahalaxmi Murder Case: In Bengaluru, the incident of brutally murdering a 29 year old woman, cutting her body into several pieces and keeping it in the fridge has created a sensation in the area. The main suspect in this murder case committed suicide last month. The police found a suicide note from him, which revealed many things.

‘If I hadn’t killed him…’

According to the suicide note received by the police, Mukti Ranjan Roy wrote, “Mahalakshmi Roy wanted to cut her body into pieces. In such a situation, if I had not killed her, she would have killed me, that is why I took such a big step.” According to Roy’s note, According to him, Mahalakshmi used to put pressure on her partner for marriage and when he did not fulfill her demands, Mahalakshmi used to beat Roy.”

The dead body was cut into pieces and kept in the refrigerator.

Mahalakshmi was last seen in Bengaluru on 1 September. On the same day, her team head and boyfriend Mukti Ranjan Roy was also seen for the last time. Police said that in this note, Mukti Ranjan Roy has admitted to strangulating her on the night of 2nd and 3rd September and further wrote that he bought a sharp weapon from the market the next morning. He also wrote that he cut Mahalakshmi’s body into pieces in the washroom and then kept those pieces in the fridge.

According to the information received by the police, Mahalakshmi, a resident of Tripura, used to work in a mall in Bengaluru. After investigation of the case, it was found that Mahalakshmi was already married and had a child, but she lived separately from her husband. Police have said that they will soon file a charge sheet in this case, because now the suicide note and postmortem report of Mukti Ranjan Roy have been received from Odisha Police. However, the weapon with which Roy dismembered Mahalakshmi’s body has not been found yet.
