ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule: ICC may approve ‘hybrid model’ for Champions Trophy on Saturday. A meeting is to be called on Saturday i.e. 14th December, in which the new Chairman of ICC will join through video conferencing. Recently a new update has come out that the International Cricket Council is ready to accept the Hybrid Model of Pakistan, under which the matches between Team India and Pakistan will be played at a ‘neutral’ venue in every ICC event to be held in India till 2027. Will be conducted at ‘Venue’ (Dubai).
An ICC source quoted by TOI has said that the venue and schedule of the Champions Trophy can be announced after the meeting on Saturday. The source said, “It is possible to announce the schedule and venue of the Champions Trophy after the ICC meeting. It was discussed in the meeting held on December 5 that the hybrid model seems to be the best option for the Champions Trophy. Now the ICC Pakistan Cricket Board Therefore, India and Pakistan will not host each other for any match till the year 2027.
Since India had refused to go to Pakistan due to security reasons. After that, PCB had demanded financial compensation in exchange for accepting the hybrid model. Now the recent report has revealed that ICC is not in favor of accepting Pakistan’s demand for financial compensation. But as a gift for accepting the hybrid model, Pakistan may be handed over the hosting of another ICC event.
Talking about ICC events to be held till 2027, India and Sri Lanka are going to co-host the T20 World Cup 2026. If ICC accepts Pakistan’s demand, then in this World Cup the Pakistani team will not play its matches in India under the ‘hybrid’ model.
