‘I will continue the fight, death will come one day’, lawyer of Hindu leader Chinmay Das said after receiving murder threat


Hindu Leader Chinmoy Krishna Das: Ravindra Ghosh, a prominent Bangladeshi lawyer, claimed on Monday (16 December 2024) that he is receiving death threats following his decision to fight the case of jailed Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das, but vowed that he would Will continue our fight for justice and minority rights.

He alleged that the interim government of Bangladesh is targeting Chinmoy Das because he has been vocal against atrocities on Hindus and uniting the persecuted minority community.

“I know that false cases can be filed against me, but that will not stop me. I have fought against injustice all my life,” the 74-year-old Bangladesh Supreme Court lawyer told news agency PTI in a telephone interview. “I have fought cases for Muslims and helped them get justice. One day death will come, but I will continue the fight.”

‘The principles of Bangladesh Liberation War are being ignored’

Highlighting the role played by Hindu minorities in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, Ravindra Ghosh lamented that the ongoing atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh ignore the “fundamental principles” of the liberation war, which were divided between West Pakistan and East Pakistan Fought to eliminate unequal treatment of citizens.

Speaking from Barrackpore near Kolkata, Ghosh said, “Since the day I announced that I will fight for Chinmoy Krishna Das, I have been receiving death threats. I regularly receive threatening calls and messages, But this will not stop me from performing my duty. I will continue to fight against the injustice done to Das and other Hindus.”

Bangladesh Samitha Sanatani Jagran Jot spokesperson Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport earlier this month while he was on his way to Chittagong for a rally. After this he was refused bail. Chinmay Das has been sent to jail till January 2 by the Bangladeshi court. Ghosh believes that he has been implicated in false allegations because of his efforts to unite the Hindu community.

Ravindra Ghosh said, “The monk’s large public meetings troubled the administration. That is why the fundamentalists and the interim government targeted him. One day death will come, but I will continue the fight.”
