Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, saying he was overjoyed when he was publicly wished for his death in Kashi. Modi referred to an earlier statement made by SP President Akhilesh Yadav while addressing the ‘Booth Vijay Sammelan’ organized by the BJP in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.
Without naming anyone, he said, “The extent to which some people have stooped in the politics of India. I do not like to criticize anyone personally but I really enjoyed it when I was publicly wished for my death in Kashi . Those people have fulfilled the wish of my heart. This means that till my death neither the people of Kashi will leave me nor will Kashi leave me.”
The Prime Minister said, “I believe that if I would have written my death while serving Kashi, then what would be the luck of a greater life than this. Those filthy familyists do not know that this living city is Banaras. This Banaras opens the way to liberation and Banaras The path of development which has been followed will also open the way for the country to be free from poverty and crime.
This path will also show the way to liberation India’s democracy, which is trapped in familyism. Narendra Modi Talking to reporters about his long visit to Varanasi, K had said, “The Prime Minister should stay there for two-three months. Good thing. That place is going to stay. Stays there at the last moment, in Banaras.”
