Farooq Abdullah On Poonch Terror Attack: The army is conducting a search operation to bring out the truth about the terrorist attack on the army vehicle in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. The area has been converted into a cantonment and the NIA team has also arrived for investigation. Now the statement of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah has come to the fore on this matter.
Giving it a political twist, he has said, “As the investigation regarding the Poonch terror attack has started so far, they should not arrest innocent people. I know they will blame innocent people only, so I want innocent people not to become victims. He further said, “The fault lies with those who catch innocent people, harass them and beat them up. This method is wrong and this should not happen.
Abdullah has termed the terrorist attack as a security lapse
Earlier on Friday (April 21), the National Conference Chief had declared a lapse in security. He had said that the top officials of Jammu and Kashmir should look into the lapses due to which five army soldiers were martyred in the terrorist attack in Poonch. He said, “The place where the attack took place is close to the border. There could be a security flaw there. They need to investigate this. Somewhere there has been a mistake and they should look into it.”
‘If there is no talk with Pakistan, attacks will continue’
Reacting to the terrorist attack in Poonch, Farooq Abdullah told the media, ‘Until there is talk with Pakistan, such attacks will continue to happen in Jammu and Kashmir. If there is no talk with Pakistan, the attack will continue. That’s why there is a need to activate SAARC.
