Crime: Maharashtra Police has arrested a young man who was running away after killing his wife in Nalasopara of Palghar district of Maharashtra from a train going to Varanasi. According to the police, the arrested youth had committed the incident four days ago on a minor argument. Since then he was absconding. Maharashtra Police was making continuous efforts to arrest him, which got success on Wednesday.
A police officer told that the arrested youth used to quarrel with his wife every day. On the day of the incident also, there was an argument between the accused and his wife earlier. It is being told that the accused did not have the money to perform the cremation after the death of his mother. After this, he wanted to sell his wife’s gold earrings for the sake of money. The wife refused to give them. After this, the accused strangled his wife to death. According to the police, the young man had killed his wife at his house on November 19. Since then he was absconding.

It may be noted that this is not the first case in which Nalasopara has come up for discussion. Earlier, it was also in discussion about Aftab Amin, the accused in the famous Shraddha murder case. On November 28, 2020, Shraddha lodged a complaint of domestic violence against Aftab at Tulinj police station in Nalasopara, in which she made several serious allegations like assault, attempt to kill Aftab. Even before her death, Shraddha had expressed apprehension that Aftab would kill her and break her into pieces. The charge sheet revealed that Aftab had been beating Shraddha continuously for 6 months.
