WhatsApp Payments is an in-chat payment service that was introduced in November 2020. UPI-Base Payment Platform is developed by National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI). It provides real time payment settlement and has become one of the popular online payment platforms. Along with sending/receiving money, it allows users to balance their bank accounts.
WhatsApp users can add more than one bank account to their WhatsApp Payments account. If a user adds more than one account, the platform allows them to change the primary account. If needed, they can also delete the bank account they no longer want to use with WhatsApp Payments. Here’s how you can change the primary bank account linked to WhatsApp Payments.
In Android (On Android)
- First of all open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
- Tap on More option and then go to Payment.
- Here, tap on the bank account you want to make primary
- Tap on ‘Make primary account’.
On iPhone
- First of all, open WhatsApp on your smartphone and tap on Settings.
- Now tap on Payments and select Bank Account.
- Now tap on ‘Make primary account’.
How to Remove a Bank Account on WhatsApp
- First go to WhatsApp and tap on Payments.
- Now tap on the bank account you want to delete
- Now, tap on Remove bank account.
