22 carat gold contains 91.67 percent pure gold. The remaining 8.33 percent is a mixture of other metals which is added to 22 carat gold. Silver and copper are mainly used in these metals. 22 carat gold is also considered pure gold, but it is less pure than 24 carat gold. Gold ornaments are made from 22 carat gold. But this type of gold jewelery is worn only on special occasions. Because this metal is very soft and light in weight.

18 carat gold

18 carat gold contains 75 percent pure gold and 25 percent adulteration of copper and silver. Due to this adulteration in 18 carat gold, the hardness increases. Thereby it is used to wear in daily life. Rings are mainly made from this metal.

14 karat gold

In 14 carat gold, the adulteration of other metals is more. It contains only 58.3 percent pure gold. The remaining 41.7 percent is mixed with metals like nickel, silver, zinc.
