How many players will be bid for?
A total of 1,574 players from all over the world had registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction. All 10 teams have shortlisted 574 of these players. This means that a total of 574 players are going to be auctioned on 24-25 November. Of these, 366 Indian players and 208 foreign players are included.
Will all 574 players be sold?
Names of 574 players will appear in the auction, but out of these only 204 players can be sold. Let us tell you that a total of 10 teams will participate in IPL 2025 and each team can have a maximum of 25 players in the squad. This means that the maximum number of players in any one season of IPL can be 250, but before the auction, 10 teams have retained a total of 46 players, which means that the slots of 204 players are still vacant.
Purse of Rs 1200 crore for auction
This time BCCI had increased the purse of IPL teams to Rs 120 crore, which means each team will have Rs 120 crore in the auction to prepare their respective team. Since before the auction, all 10 teams have retained 46 players, on whom Rs 588.5 crore has been spent. To fill the remaining 204 slots, all 10 teams have a total of Rs 641.5 crore left.
