In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that for the year 2025, the quota has been distributed in the ratio of 70:30 between HCOIs and HGOs, as per the Haj policy issued on August 5, 2024. Notification was issued for 2025. He said that for Haj 2025, the quota of Haj pilgrims allotted to HGOs is 30 percent of India’s total 1,75,025 i.e. 52,507.

Quota will be allocated as per terms and conditions

Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the allocation of Haj quota and terms and conditions related to Haj group organizers are governed by a bilateral agreement, signed between India and Saudi Arabia, which takes into account several ground realities. Is.

He said India’s Haj quota for 2025 has been fixed at 1,75,025 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia and has been distributed among the Haj Committee of India (HCOI) and HGOs.

The distribution will be done as per the previous rules.

Kiren Rijiju said that in the last five years, the quota distribution between HCOIs and HGOs has been between 70:30 and 80:20. Therefore, the distribution of quota between Haj Committee of India and HGOs for Haj 2025 will not be different from before, he said.
