After the voting on 5 seats in the state in the first phase, CM Sarma has claimed that BJP will clean sweep all the 5 seats in the state.

‘I am MLA from Guwahati, BJP’s victory margin will be highest.,
Assam Chief Minister Sarma also claimed that BJP will win the Guwahati seat of the state with the highest margin of votes. He said, “The biggest victory margin (of BJP) will be from Guwahati because I am an MLA from there.” He said that earlier Nagaon and Karimganj seats were difficult in the second phase, but now it has become easy for us.
Till date no non-Muslim candidate has been able to win from Dhubri.
The political history of the state’s Dhubri Lok Sabha seat, where the Chief Minister of Assam has expressed doubts about winning, has been interesting. Till date, not a single non-Muslim candidate has won this Lok Sabha seat, which came into existence during the first elections in 1951. AUDF candidate Badruddin Ajmal had won from here in 2014 and since then he has also registered in 2019 and is in the electoral fray this year too.
This is a minority dominated seat in the state where the difference between victory and defeat is decided by Muslim voters. In the past this seat has been a stronghold of Congress. Different Congress candidates have won elections from here 11 times. However, from the year 2009 onwards, Badruddin Ajmal’s dominance was visible on this seat. From here, Assam Gana Parishad (AGP), BJP’s ally in Assam, has fielded Javed Islam from Dhubri for the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
