Earthquake in Shimla: Earthquake tremors were felt in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Today on October 12 at 3:32 pm the earth shook. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 3.0 on the Richter scale. After the earthquake, there was an atmosphere of chaos. People came out of their homes to save their lives. It is a matter of relief that there has been no damage to life and property due to the earthquake. According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Chirgaon of Khasadhar.

In how many zones was the earthquake divided?
In terms of earthquake, India has been divided into five seismic zones. The areas in Seismic Zone-5 are most at risk of earthquake. At the same time, the areas of Zone 1 and 2 are in the least danger. The fifth zone covers 11 percent of the country, while the fourth zone covers 18 percent. Whereas 30 percent of the country falls in the third and second zones. Most of the areas of Himachal Pradesh fall in Seismic Zone 4 and 5 in terms of earthquake.
