7- The Congress high command gave consent in the name of 58-year-old Sukhu, MLA from Nadaun. The Congress has 40 MLAs in the 68-member state assembly.
8- After the Legislature Party meeting, Sukhu, State Congress Committee President Pratibha Singh, Baghel, Hooda, Shukla and Agnihotri met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and staked claim to form the government.
9- Sukhu, who started his political career from NSUI, became the President of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee in 2013 and remained in this post till 2019, while performing many responsibilities in the organization. He won the election for the first time in 2003 from Nadaun assembly seat in Hamirpur district and again in 2007 from here. He had to face defeat in the 2012 assembly elections, although he won again in the 2017 and 2022 assembly elections.
10- In a meeting held in Shimla on Friday (December 9) evening, the legislators unanimously passed a resolution empowering the party president to decide on the leader of the party legislature party, who would be the next chief minister of Himachal Pradesh.
