Uttarakhand Rain: Monsoon rains have created havoc in Uttarakhand. Due to heavy rains in the hilly areas of the state, there have been reports of landslides and breaking of rocks at many places, due to which many routes have been closed. Meanwhile, near Nand Prayag, the motorway has been closed after debris came to the fore from the mountains. Due to rain near Chaman temple near Nand Prayag, this debris has come down. Due to which the Nand Nagar road has been completely blocked. Due to which the traffic has come to a complete standstill. Police and administration teams are engaged in the campaign to open the road.
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of rain in the state for the next two-three days. On the other hand, there was heavy rain in many parts of the state on Sunday, due to which incidents of landslides and debris falling from the mountains have come to the fore. Due to the debris coming from the mountains in Nand Prayag, the road has been blocked, the effect of which is being seen on the movement. Long queues of vehicles have formed on both sides of the road, after which the administration is busy clearing the way.
Trouble due to rain in Uttarakhand
Earlier on Sunday, there was news of death of two people and injuries of three people due to rain. A landslide occurred after heavy rains in Rudraprayag district, debris of which fell on a vehicle passing below, resulting in the death of the vehicle rider. According to the police, the accident took place on the motorway going to Gaurikund, about one kilometer before the shuttle bridge near Sonprayag. On the other hand, the second incident took place in Kandiyal village of Uttarkashi where lightning struck a farmer who was transplanting in the field and he died.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is also keeping an eye on the situation due to rains in Uttarakhand. He has asked the District Magistrates to be alert for disaster relief and rescue operations and to make adequate arrangements for health workers along with SDRF. Along with this, Kedarnath Dham was also observed online and appealed to the devotees to take weather information before Chardham Yatra. Do not travel when the weather is bad.
