Two temples found in Sambhal
2 closed temples have been found in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Both these temples are in Muslim dominated areas. The first Kartikeshwar temple was found on December 14 at Khaggusarai, one and a half kilometers from Jama Masjid. The second one was found in Sarayatreen of Hayat Nagar.
Temple also found in Amethi
A 120 year old Shiva temple has also been found in Amethi. It is alleged that the ancient Panch Shikhar Shiva temple was captured by people of other communities. People have given a complaint letter to the SDM demanding action. Villagers have said that worship in the temple has been stopped by a community for the last 40 years.
Temple of Banke Bihari and Mahadev in Chandausi
The temple of Banke Bihari and Mahadev located in the Muslim area of Chandausi has been reopened. Krishna Kumar, who was the guardian of the temple, had told that till 2010, worship used to take place here. But in 2010 itself, the statue of Lord Banke Bihari and Shivalinga etc. were vandalized. The administration has recently opened both these temples.
Shiva temple turned into ruins
A Shiva temple is in ruins in Ladhwala locality of Muzaffarnagar district. The temple of Lord Shivshankar was established in 1970. Worship used to take place here till 1992. But in 1992, due to the Babri Masjid dispute and the subsequent communal riots, Hindus fled from here. During this time, the idols of Shivalinga and other gods and goddesses installed in the Hindu temple were also taken along.
50 year old temple found in Khurja
A 50 year old temple has also been found in Bulandshahr district. Hindu organizations have appealed to the administration to renovate the temple, so that worship can resume here. This temple is closed since the riots of 1990.
Two temples were also found in Aligarh
Two old temples were found in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Hindu organizations had claimed that their team had discovered a Shiva temple in a Muslim dominated area of Delhi Gate police station area of Aligarh. Earlier, a temple was also discovered in Sarai Rehman area of Bannadevi police station area.
Two temples were found in Kanpur
In Kanpur too, Mayor and BJP leader Pramila Pandey had opened two closed temples in Muslim dominated areas. These temples remained closed after the 1992 riots. During this time, when the Shivalaya was opened, the Shivalinga was found missing from inside the temple. A small factory was found running in the other temple.
Temple found in Kashi also
A closed temple was found in the Muslim dominated area of Kashi. Hindu organization Sanatan Rakshak Dal claimed that the temple is 250 years old and has been locked for the last 40 years. Before this, puja used to take place here.
