Government in action after High Court’s reprimand, Nursing Council registrar Sunita Shiju’s leave

Madhya Pradesh News: Sunita Shiju, registrar of the Nursing Council in Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh), has been removed from the post and sent back to the parent department. This action was taken by the government after the strictness of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. However, despite this, the petitioner is not satisfied with the action of the government. He told the court that protection is being given to Sunita by sending her to Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, on the original post of staff nurse.

The action taken report was presented on Thursday by the state government in the High Court. It was informed by the government that Director Medical Education has issued a show cause notice to Sunita Shiju regarding tarnishing the image of the department including irregularity in beliefs and delay in examinations. The government said that Sunita Shiju has been removed from the post of registrar and sent to Gandhi Medical College Bhopal on the original post of staff nurse.

Court gave 24 hours ultimatum
Taking the government’s action on record, the High Court has fixed the next hearing on the matter in the week of June 12 after the summer vacation. During the hearing on the petition of Vishal Baghel, president of Madhya Pradesh Law Students Association, on Wednesday, the High Court gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the government regarding action on Sunita. After the strictness of the High Court in the matter related to the nursing college forgery, the government came into action and removed Sunita Shiju, registrar of the Nursing Council, from the post.

The petitioner made this allegation on the government
Significantly, Registrar Sunita Siju was suspended by the High Court in the matter of giving recognition to fake colleges in 2021-22. After this, instead of taking any action on Siju, the government quietly restored him to the post of registrar. Advocate Alok Vagrecha, on behalf of the petitioner, accused the government of giving protection to Sunita Shiju by terming only issuing a notice as a weak action. He said that the registrar who had committed irregularities has been removed from her post and posted in Bhopal itself. When the court expressed displeasure over this, the government asked for time for appropriate action.

During the hearing of the case in the High Court, objection was also taken by the petitioner as to what action has been taken in the last two years against the registrar Chandrakala Divgaiya who was suspended earlier. His report was also not presented in the court. Even on this, the court has asked the government to present the action taken report on the former registrar during the next hearing.

Gwalior’s cases will not come to Jabalpur
During the hearing on Wednesday, an application was presented by the government to transfer 38 cases related to nursing fraud going on in Gwalior to Jabalpur. This was objected to by the petitioner Law Students Association, after which the High Court refused to transfer those cases to Jabalpur.
